Update on Scott

Hello All,

I want to let everyone know that I am doing OK in here. It is a living hell, but I just have to do my time and be done with it. I have befriended a few guys that have helped me out alot. They are older guys (around 50-70), and they are really nice... most of the people here are nice, and they just want to do their time and be done with it. There is a NO TOLERANCE POLICY in reguards to assault, or sexual assault... During my orientation, we have a big presentation about it...

The food here leaves alot to be desired. On a scaled of 1 to 10, I would rate it a 3 or 4, some days are better than others...

Email access is cool... it costs be 15 cents per minute while I am logged in, and I can do whatever I want (just email) for 30 minutes, and then it shuts off. Then I have to wait 15 minutes before I can log back in.

The Phone system is decent. I get to talk for 15 minutes at a time, and it costs 23 cents a minute, and after my time, I have to wait 30 minutes before I can talk again....

The worst part of it all is that I dont get to see my family and friends on a daily basis... I havent really received alot of emails from anyone but my family, which doesnt suprise me... not like I am in PRISON or anything...

But aside from that... things are going OK here. The sleeping arrangements suck, I have a top bunk on about a 1inch thick mattress that isnt comfortable. They turn the lights off at 10 on weekdays, and about the same on weekends... I have a window next to my bunk, which means that I have the stadium style lighting that lights the whole complex shining right onto my head.

Also, the noise here is terrible. No one is considerate of anyone in that department... oh well though... this isnt supposed to be paradise.

All I have been doing lately is playing cards... sitting around, and playing Spades, Rummy, and Magic 2s... I just learned how to play spades, and it is really fun...

I cant receive any packages that contain anything other than SOFTCOVER Books, and MAGAZINES, and it has to say on the box or manilla envelope "BoP APPROVED". That has to be written somewhere on the package or envelope in big letters. So I can receive it.

Other than that people. There isn't much to do here... and it has been a strain.... but I will do my time and get out... I will have my girlfriend post more when I get the chance.

FAREWELL

To All:
-This is going to be my last post for a while. So I want to thank all of you for reading this... I will have a friend or two post some things for me while I am away, so do keep reading...

You know that point where you want to break into tears... but can't?

That is the point I am at right now... and it is the worst feeling ever...
But I am going to do my time, and be done with it...

Forget

You know, today I took Jeni and Kailyn to Splash Lagoon (an indoor waterpark). And for a few hours, I totally forgot that I was going to be leaving in such a short time. It was relaxing and fun to watch Kailyn frolic around in the water and go down the slides and such... it was really fun.

Now I am sitting in my room, on my computer... having just installed the new CPU Cooler/Heatsink that I ordered. It has done a good job of cooling everything... which means it is serving its purpose.

I don't know guys... I just don't know... Five months isn't a really long time... but it isn't better than nothing.

A Few Days Left...

I only have a few days left before I leave for 5 months. Saturday night, we all went out to the bars and had a good time, seeing as it was my last Saturday to hang out for almost a full year. Some people showed, some people didn't. Oh well...

Anyways. Thursday morning I am off. I don't know any specifics other than that...

There is more to come before Thursday.

Best Week Ever [VH1.com]

I thought I would be creative (although still thinking inside the box of pop culture) and come up with a catchy Title for this post... although dreary and depressing as it may seem.

I have 1 week *hence the title* before I have to report to Morgantown, West Virginia, to spend the next 5 months in prison.

***Topic change: Perceptions of Reality

It is common knowledge to all that situations and experiences dictate a persons view on the world. I have, because of my situation, become more cynical over the past year or so... now is this due to immediate circumstances... I don't think so... the world around me isn't filled with pixie sticks and lolli-pops... it is surrounded by liars, cheaters, and crooks... the backbone of our society lies in the principle of who can strike who first and with the fiercest malcontent... I do not believe for one second that people are good natured... myself included... saying that I am any less than the rest of the world makes me smug in my indifference.

Cynical or not... it isn't my right to judge... but observations are hard to ignore.

Trials and Retributions...

Well, as if everything going on in my life right now isn't plaguing enough... I am sitting on my desktop *using my laptop now*.. and it restarts... so I come to find out that it is due to a THERMAL EVENT... so after some checking I see that my CPU is running at 105 degrees Celsius (really hot in Fahrenheit)... so I was forced to order a new CPU Fan (CLICK HERE)... so I have to wait until Feb 12th before it arrives...

What a pain... now I am stuck using the laptop... which doesn't bother me too much, but it doesn't have Ubuntu installed, it has windows.

Oh Well...

Another Day

Well everyone, it is the start of my last full week before I become a convict. It should be interesting... I am going to play some basketball tonight, and then maybe spend some time with my girlfriend... other than that... I don't really have any incredible plans for this week. Jeni took off next week, so maybe I will do something then... but as of right now...nothing...

Let the Countdown Begin

Two weeks away from today, I will be going to prison. That is as blunt as I can put it... no sugar-coating what is going on... no watering it down... no beating around the bush... in 2 weeks, I will be driving down to Morgantown, WV, and I will start day 1 of my 150 days in prison. Oh God is getting close... I am not going to lie to anyone... I am scared to death to go... Leave my Jeni, and my Kailyn... and not see them for a long time... emotions are wearing thin being that is getting so close to my time of departure... and I am starting to feel it more and more...

I don't have much more to say right now... I haven't slept much over the past couple days... so I am going to try that now... seeing as it is four-thirty in the AM.

I will post more later.
